May I please submit a short tribute to the player I idolised on what would have been his 60th birthday? George - a young Scot salutes his idol. You were the greatest player to grace the sport whatever anyone says. Have a marvellous day with Sir Matt and the boys. You’re in the thoughts of all your fans. We love you Georgie. Sleep tight. I was actually in Barcelona when he was taken unfit the last time and I didn’t know he’d died until I flew back on the Friday - even though I went to Stormont on the Saturday.

The reason I didn’t put the tribute on earlier was because my comp was bust. It bust when George got taken unfit the last time and I didn’t get a new one until after he died - in fact, I didn’t know he’d died.

My comp actually bust before George died - so I didn’t get the message on - so I wrote it after he died. Sorry. But I still don’t agree with the unsolicited poison you wrote in your message. George was the greatest player to ever grace English soccer and I found him very pleasant. Sleep tight George. We won’t forget you. All my love - Scot.
