My Projects
While I enjoy working for the man, a brother has to have some side gigs to fill his soul. Previously, I could count on spinning some mad tunes on vinyl, of course my vinyl has seen better days, and my decks were stolen from a nuclear fallout bunker in Prague (no really, but that’s another story).
altsearch.com
altsearch is an old search engine that I resurrected for the fun of it. I decided to focus solely on web 2.0 sites and communities. while yes, google does indeed dominate the web search market, I think there is more than enough room for someone looking after a niche market. throw in some rss feeds, and community aspects to it, it just might work.
i’ve got a whole slew of buzzwords in the pipeline, but with my meagre budget and free time it will take a few weeks. stay tuned!
altsearch is powered by phplinkdirectory and a whole slew of custom modifications. the site is totally css driven, with just one or two core registration pages still (sadly) containing tables. the few remaining tables are targeted for termination.
thepokerstuds.com
the poker what? studs? hell yes! am i a stud? well you’ll have to ask my wife. no seriously, the site was my answer to the growing army of poker sites, and sites about poker sites etc etc. however, my aim for the poker studs is to focus on the international market, or people who want to play poker who may not necessarily speak english, want to pay in dollars, and not use a windows machine. no really cool web 2.0 buzzwords here, but it is a super clean site that should help you find what you are looking for. no annoying pop-ups either. the site boasts a nice rss feed w
i’ve got a heavy pipeline of community features to add. mainy around allowing users to post detailed reviews and screenshots of each site they have used.
the poker studs is powered by accessible joomla version 1.0.8, as well as a whole slew of custom modifications. The site is totally css-driven with nary a table in sight.
pokersitecompare.com
another poker site? is this a trend? no, thankfully. pokersitecompare grew out of my setup for the poker studs. i quickly realized that 98% of the poker world don’t care about you unless you run windows, speak english, and only want to play texas hold em. the poker studs is for the other 2%. pokersitecompare is for the 98%. give ‘em what the want i suppose, but i secretly want thepokerstuds to win.
pokersitecompare is powered by accessible joomla version 1.0.8, as well as a whole slew of custom modifications. The site is totally css-driven with nary a table in sight.
????
a big mystery. what is it? well, if i ever get funding it could be an interesting entrant into the online rss space. oh no, there are only 2,345 sites that do that now. i know, but trust me. this will cook.
