Because it's just so darn hard to run an "e shop" these days...

The amazing thing is these people are spending money on Adsense, to send visitors to a site where they ask you to phone them or request a catalog to be mailed to you!

With the possible exception of CD's and books, one of the key factors for selling any type of product online is rich, descriptive product information, and good pictures. Pictures tell you a lot of things, how it looks, the style, the build quality, and a number of other factors.

Now, lets look at how you should not present your products online thanks to the good folks over at Diy.com (B&Q). My wife and I are in the market for a new bathroom suite, and the bathtub is a key element there. Most online sites, even Mom & Pop shops, provide a wide variety of photos of their bathtubs for obvious reasons. B&Q? They provide just one picture, and what an enormously useless picture it is!

No profile, just top down. You have to wonder how many people actually buy a tub from B&Q, without ever actually seeing it in the flesh. So, if your website cannot function as a sales channel without someone actually visiting your store first, then what is the point?
