So I've given Mobile Me some time to sort out their terrible POP3 support, and I've decided enough is enough. Its bad enough they don't support IMAP, but even worse when their POP3 support is flaky and unstable. Mobile Me support has been great, but I'm not paying for a service that requires me to "work around" problems that doesn't exist in pay/free products (see gmail, roundcube mail, etc).
If you must know, Mobile Me's implementation seems to have a limit of the number of emails it can download from the host server. Once it reaches this limit, it stops and just continues to re-download the messages up to that limit.
So I decide its time to cancel the service. Brief scan of the Mobile Me UI does not show any visible "cancel" option. Ok, so lets contact support! Here is the simple process they advise I need to follow via email if I want spit out my kool aid and leave the Mobile Me party:
- Your secondary email address that is on file
- Your birthday
- My secret password
- Last four digits of your credit card or web order number
- Your pinky or a very small puppy
